We all know that when we are experiencing feelings of overwhelm our brain has difficulty accessing information to help us cope with those same feelings. For individuals with ADHD or other executive functioning challenges this is even more difficult, especially with the feeling of boredom. Boredom is one of the experiences that causes significant discomfort for the neurodivergent brain.
This printable worksheet was designed to help the neurodivergent brain to have ideas/activities readily available for when boredom or discomfort strikes. For the neurodivergent brain, once it enters the boredom state, accessing "things to do" becomes increasingly difficult. It is important to engage in activities when bored before task paralysis sets in, which may increase negative internal experiences.
Encouraging clients to utilize this worksheet to develop a "list of options" of things to do when they are bored or uncomfortable gives them more autonomy in the ability to combat difficulties with motivation and task initiation. You can also encourage them to keep it close by or in a central place for easy access.
This worksheet can be printed and distributed to clients for use in sessions, as homework, or as an independent resource. This design specifically has mountains as a symbol of strength against adversity, if you are interested in a different design, please see the other listings in our shop. We also have a full bundle of resources available in this same theme.
You have unlimited access to this resource; the color scheme is blue and gold.
